Try Tandem Cycling – free session Sunday 7 April, Karawarra

The Western Australian Tandem Cycling Advisory Council (WATCAC) will host this ‘try tandem cycling’ clinic for blind and vision impaired participants and for sighted riders who may like to volunteer as front riders. To start riding on the back of a tandem, no previous cycling experience is necessary.  To start riding on the front of a tandem, previous experience including derailleur gears is recommended but not essential.

Tandem talent shines through showery clinic

A drizzly cold morning wouldn’t normally draw a cycling crowd but there was no stopping our clinic enthusiasts who came along to our July clinic to learn all about tandem cycling with WATCAC.  Our morning program provided an introduction to tandem cycling for both volunteer pilots and blind or vision-impaired stokers of all abilities, in a fun and supportive environment.

WATCAC says thank you to our volunteers

Members and friends shared a picnic lunch under crisp winter skies in Kings Park recently.  Our Volunteer Picnic was held to thank and recognise all those that help the Association maintain its momentum.

Speaking to the gathering, WATCAC Chair Erin McGlew highlighted the efforts of our volunteer community in enabling the Association to operate and fulfill its objectives. Key areas of effort were recognised including fundraising, tandem cycling clinics and with our riding program.
