Saturday 27 Feb 2021: New Stoker (VI) Clinic

Starting at 8:30am at Technology Park West, Kensington, this two hour session will provide you with an introduction to riding on the back of a tandem bicycle.

You will learn how to mount, start, stop and ride on the back of a tandem bike (as the “stoker”). We will take time to familiarise and orientate new riders to a tandem placed on a stationary trainer. From there you will be matched with an experienced and sighted tandem rider (your pilot) for a guided practical session. You will be in a safe riding environment and no previous cycling experience is required. There will also be ample opportunity to chat with tandem cyclists about their riding experiences.

For those who are available on Sunday morning 28th February, we will also conduct a follow-up practice ride to build skills and confidence. The time is again 8:30-10:30, at the same location.

Please register your interest using the Contact Us page by 23rd February.

Sunday 28 Feb 2021: New Rider Skill Development Ride

This skill building ride around Technology Park, Bentley allows the newly trained Pilots and Stokers to gain experience riding on road in a low traffic environment. The short ride is open to our members as well as those who have attended tandem clinics. Please register your interest using the Contact Us page.
