As a step towards planning for the association, the committee consulted with members in late 2020. Around half of our members participated, either through an online questionnaire, by email or small group teleconferences. This valuable input helped inform the development of a broader strategic plan endorsed by the committee for presentation to members at the 2021 Annual General Meeting.
2021 AGM Rec Ride and Annual General Meeting
This year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Sunday 31th October with a celebratory extra WATAC ride. Five tandems and five singles headed south on a recreational ride from Lathlain to Roe, Tonkin and Leach Highways along Principal Shared Paths, returning to Lathlain via Tomato Lake. Congratulations to two new riders for a fantastic effort on their first WATCAC group ride, following a recent clinic for blind and vision-impaired stokers held in early October.
Tandem Talk September 2021
Welcome to another edition of Tandem Talk. It’s been a while so sorry about that – busy you know. Anyway, a whole bunch of notices below plus an article from yonks ago about WATCAC’s outing at the 2010 Busselton Half Iron Man Marathon. I know recycling content is a bit of a cheat, but I realized the other day that many of our current members may not have heard the story. It’s a bit long, but I hope that you find it interesting.
Cheers.
Beau.

Dryandra Woodlands Adventure
In May, 18 WATCAC members and friends headed down to Dryandra Woodlands, 165 km south east of Perth, for a fabulous long weekend exploring the trails, single track and roads in the area. The Lions Club of Narrogin run the tiny 1920’s former forestry settlement, Lions Dryandra Village. This cottage accommodation and education centre is meticulously hosted by Lisa and John. Our group spread out over several cottages ensuring comfortable sleeping arrangements. Sue and Connie set up the long table in the aptly named Wallaby cottage which became the hub of our non-riding activities.
