The Western Australian Tandem Cycling Advisory Council (WATCAC) will host this ‘try tandem cycling’ clinic for blind and vision impaired participants and for sighted riders who may like to volunteer as front riders. To start riding on the back of a tandem, no previous cycling experience is necessary. To start riding on the front of a tandem, previous experience including derailleur gears is recommended but not essential.

Tandemonium 2022 – Teaming up to celebrate WA Bike Month!
October was WA Bike Month and WATCAC joined Western Australia’s cycling community to celebrate big time! The Western Australian Tandem Cycling Advisory Council (WATCAC) hosted its second tandem muster, supported by the WA Department of Transport and WestCycle. Emphasizing the accessibility of tandem cycling, it was an open invitation extended to all comers. The event was made possible by Perth’s blind and vision-impaired tandem cycling community.
Life Cycle On-Road 2021 approaching fast
Fifteen riders will be flying the flag for WATCAC on the annual Life Cycle for Canteen On-Road ride, 6-8 March. Participants ride 300km over three days from Bassendean to Busselton.
Thumbs up for Tandem Cycling Program
A fabulous group of dedicated cyclists joined our recent tandem pilot clinic held at the George Burnett Recreation Centre. The clinic focussed on how to ride on the front seat of a tandem, as the pilot. The eighteen trainees had backgrounds in touring, recreational, road, mountain and competition cycling, including some tandem cyclists!

Tandemonium as Tandem Cyclists Highlight Cycling Road Safety
Fifty participants from Perth’s tandem cycling community formed a processional ride for road safety along the South Perth foreshore, as part of Tandemonium, Perth’s inaugural tandem muster for road safety. Hosted by the Western Australian Tandem Cycling Advisory Council (WATCAC) the event attracted a wide range of tandem and solo cyclists as part of National Road Safety Week 2020.
